A afternoon tour to Þingvellir and a museum at Eyrarbakki.

We will leave Reykjavík at one o'clock in the afternoon and drive straight to Þingvellir and look around there at this beautiful historical place. After that we drive to Eyrarbakki, a village on the south cost of Iceland and check out their wonderful museum. It is historically important because it served as a common market place for farmers along the south coast of Iceland. Farmers came there to trade their wool and other goods for imported goods like coffee, sugar and other materials like a new apron for a housewife or a jewel for a beloved one. We will visit a museum in Eyrarbakki that reflects on those times. The museum is called Húsið (the house) and was built late on the 18th century by a Danish merchant. After our visit to the "Húsið", we will take a walk along Eyrarbakki's beautiful beach and enjoy coffee or tea served with traditional Icelandic cakes and sandwiches.
